However, please note that Whist & Club Afternoon plus Crafts are now running on different days to previous years.

There will be further details about the monthly events nearer the time with sign-up sheets at the clubhouse.

Support for Ukraine Friday Evening 11th March & Wednesday 13th April

Sheila ran a social fund-raising evening for Ukraine on Friday 11 March. Burgers and hot dogs were available and of course it was  a good chance to catch up with other members over a drink from the bar. The club donated the food for the evening so all money raised is g0ing to a ‘matched donation’ Ukraine Appeal.  A  minimum donation of £5 was suggested but it was up to members.  All were asked to wear something blue & yellow.

Sheila also plans to hold a burger/hot dog lunch plus tea or coffee  on Wednesday 13th April at 1.00 p.m; the cost will be £2.50. Hopefully this will raise some more funds for Ukraine. There is no Whist on that date and this will be the last social event before the Bowls season begins.  Please add your name to the sign up sheet on the notice board in the Clubhouse or contact Sheila if you are unable to get to the clubhouse before then.

So far over £800 has been raised – a Fantastic achievement – Well done to all and in particular to Sheila

Below are a few images taken during  the evening.

This well supported successful and enjoyable evening was arranged by Sheila at short notice.

The  Christmas Social Morning at the Club on the 3 December (see the poster on the left) was very successful.

It was very well supported and everyone was so pleased to meet up with other members in these difficult times. It was also very pleasing to see the clubhouse adorned with Christmas decorations.

It was also very profitable for the club, so a great success for everyone.

There were lots of prizes donated for the tombola stall and Tim Bailey made a fantastic cake for the ‘Guess the Weight of the Cake stall’, that cake was won by Dave Sear.

Thanks to everyone who either helped on the morning or came along and supported the event.

A small gallery of images from the morning is below the poster.

The honours for the Skittles Competition went to:

The Hot Shots!!!!! – Sylvia Smith, David Fletcher, Steve Burrell, Joan Luther and Dave Drew

Individual highest scorer: John Bell (who donated his ‘glitter-ballesque’ prize!) to Georgie Sear

Some images taken during the competition are shown in the Gallery below (Clicking on an image will bring up a larger image; to return to this page use your browser’s return arrow)
