Annual Gala 2018

2018 Gala – Monday 28th May

In absolutely perfect weather and in high spirits 24 teams from the following Bowls Clubs:

The Met Police, Bushey, Little Gaddesden, Herts, Abbots Langley, Harperbury, Kitcheners, Kings Langley, Dunstable, Ruislip and Berkhamsted competed to win prize monies totalling £270.

First prize of £120 with 38 points

Steve Murray, Jo Hollister and Paul Murray (team name ‘Murray’s Mints’) from Kitcheners Bowls Club. Murray’s Mints generously donated the team’s prize money to The Hospice of St Francis, Berkhamsted in memory of Paul’s father.

Second prize of £90 with 34 points

Wray Lewis, Michelle Cavaye and Wilf Johns (team name ‘The Abbots’) from Abbots Langley Bowls Club

Third prize of £60 with 32 points

Graham Searle, Ann Dix and Nick Dix (team name ‘MPx3 Players’) from the Metropolitan Police Bowls Club

The prize monies were sponsored by the following local businesses who have all been very supportive over the last few years.

The bric-a-brac stall, run by Mary Cave and Anne Cutting, took £100 which will be donated to The Hospice of St Francis. There was also a Cake stall and a Guess-the-weight-of-the-Cake made by Ken Maynard/Jonathan Hawkins.
