Elvis Evening March 2026

On Saturday March 21st some 60 or so club members experienced an ‘Elvis evening’ in the Clubhouse for the first time.
The evening kicked off with a delicious meal of either Cottage Pie or Macaroni Cheese before Elvis made his way into the building for the first of his two performance sets.
During the interval between those two sets, Sheila asked David Brown to run a Heads or Tails Competition, which caused its usual mayhem, before finding the lucky winner.
A great Elvis evening – the clubhouse ‘rocked’ and a few lucky ladies were serenaded or danced with Elvis!!!
Naturally members phone cameras were very much in evidence to record their own memories of this unforgettable evening – you can see some evidence of this in the galleries below! Thanks to Sheila, Noreen, Jenny, Jim, Tony H & Paul S for making the following images & videos available for this page.

Members eagerly awaiting the delicious food of Cottage Pie or Macaroni Cheese prepared by the fair hands of  Jackie Cormack & Noreen Codina – Well done girls – with beverages expertly  served by the evening bar staff of Tony & Alison ‘Beehive (For one night only) ‘ Maddison!.

After that feast we waited  with excited anticipation for Elvis (aka Mark Biggerstaff) to enter the building for the first of his two sets.

After a short interval that featured a ‘somewhat’ chaotic game of Heads or Tails, overseen (shouted!!!!) by David Brown, Elvis appeared for his second set in his ‘black rocker gear’.

For one of his numbers, Elvis was supported on one his numbers by an ‘up & coming!’ backing group of Linda & Peter – The Jordanaires are pretty safe!!!!

The evening finished with a spectacular torchlight rendering of the The Wonder of You

Finally a very big & heartfelt thank you to Sheila & her team for the excellent organisation and to David Biggerstaff & Family for their generous contribution to this very successful event.
