Despite Berkhamsted losing two of their three friendly matches this week there was great success for Kevin Clarke and David Brown when they bounced back from disappointment in the Watford & District Triples final to win the Pairs Championship in the afternoon. They defeated the father and son pair of David and Dylan Martin from Garston 23-6 in an entertaining and good humoured match. Earlier that week David Martin had reached the National Singles semi-finals at Leamington and won the District Singles before playing the pairs final.
